A question that often comes up concerns the storage of earthworms. This nutritious liquid is at its best when fresh, but if you've harvested a large quantity, you may wonder how to store it. Storage in an airtight container in a cool place is recommended, a glass bottle being ideal. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, as this can destroy the essential nutrients and micro-organisms it contains. Over time, oxygen may become depleted, resulting in a slightly unpleasant odor. We therefore recommend that you aerate it regularly, shaking the bottle from time to time. Then open and close the cork.
The exact storage time for earthworms will vary according to a number of factors, including temperature, nutrient concentration and aeration conditions. You can keep it for several months, but ideally you should use it as soon as possible to reap its full benefits.
