But what's upcycling?
It's the art of transforming waste into products of much higher quality, and even adding value to them. It's the art of adding value to anything that's considered wasted or non-recyclable.
From the customization of furniture found in the rubbish bin, to wooden jewelry made from the boards of old skateboards, every opportunity is good to imagine and create with what should have gone into the garbage can. And that's exactly what our woven basket is all about!
A fair trade object made from waste
No, you're not dreaming, this adorable eco chic basket was born from waste. Entirely handmade in the Philippines by women artisans, our woven basket is made from disposable plastic packaging! By buying or collecting these bags, which have a tough aluminum coating, these women give them a second life. After being washed and sorted by color, the pouches are cut into strips and woven according to ancestral know-how.
Not only is our woven basket unique, chic and zero waste, it's also fair trade! The workers are employed by a cooperative of artisans in the Philippine archipelago of Cebu, which guarantees them fair remuneration for the work they do.

Place your basket under your City worms to store the small pieces of cardboard needed to moisten your vermicompost.
