Parenthood changes people, but I had no idea just how much! As the mother of 2 lovely blond darlings, I do my best every day, but as the mother of a whole litter of compost worms, I have to admit I was a little scared..

But I was surprised to discover that, in the end, it's all quite simple, much more so than my two loves.

So here we are at the end of this second week of use:

1° observation: indeed, the mold that had blithely developed has reduced its wings, phew!

2nd observation: there's still no smell, despite the diversity of fruit and vegetables. I've tested leeks and cabbage, and no one balked?

3rd observation: they're much calmer than my offspring, and they love vegetables!

One of the pleasant surprises of this adoption is our consumption of fruit and vegetables, with even the children getting involved out of concern for the well-being of the worms!

Everyone pitches in, cutting, peeling, preparing the cardboard... in addition to reducing our green garbage can, our recycling garbage can also takes a hit! The shelf underneath allowed us to store a good quantity of cardboard in advance, and even a glass bottle packed with tips for optimal use of the vermicompost!

A new ritual for us too: drying the eggshells. We then grind them to keep them on the shelf, and sprinkle them on the tray from time to time to regulate the acidity of the vermicomposter.

For the moment, we still haven't had any run-off, but a little dew has settled under the lid, which tells us that everything is going according to plan?
