You've taken the plunge and your vermicomposter is proudly installed in your home - congratulations!
Installing and starting up this eco-system is a unique experience, best enjoyed with the whole family. Children are curious and adventurous, and they love little creatures!
In a few months' time, your new friends will pass unnoticed in your kitchen, garage or on your balcony (out of the sun and rain!), but for now, they'll be the focus of all your attention: is it damp enough there? Oops, not too much garbage for the first 3 or 4 weeks... oh! it's funny how these cotton-like moulds grow on the garbage...! Look at those white dots moving around! You know, they're springtails, they help reduce waste and they're harmless...!
It's funny how quickly you get used to having worms eating your garbage at home!
