Re'N'art needs your help to get off the ground!
Back in May, we introduced you to a project close to our hearts, the Bistrot Potager le Re'N'art ressourcerie. In an interview with Océane Oukid, co-founder of the project, we took stock of the importance of such an initiative in our region.
A cooperative, cultural meeting place, based on making and eating in a short circuit, around a ressourcerie-bistrot-potager. Animated by a regular cultural program, this green space, located 3 km from the center of Pézenas, with its "Ville et Métiers d'art" label, will host repair, creation and other workshops, according to the skills of its members/volunteers:
- Ressourcerie: sale as is and transformation with added artistic value from objects recovered from private homes and waste collection centers; small appliance repair service.
- Bistrot-potager: small café/resto supplied with vegetables from our organic kitchen garden. The rest comes from local suppliers. Our priority is short and local circuits.
- Activities: educational workshops (repair, fabrication, mechanics, bicycles, composting, waste reduction, etc.) and small socio-cultural programs (mainly at weekends).
- Social integration: our cooperative will serve as a home for various social integration and medico-social structures
After winning the "Mon projet pour la planète" competition in the spring, alongside some forty other projects, the ressourcerie - bistrot potager was incubated by the Occitanie Pyrénées/Méditerranée region's social innovation incubator, Alter'incub.
Today, Re'N'art has found the location of its dreams, in an old farmhouse 15 minutes' walk from the town center, on a 4500m2 plot of land.
But to be able to set up there, the team needs to modify Re'N'art's articles of association and transform it from an association into a SCIC (Société Coopérative d'Intérêt Collectif), in order to raise enough capital to be able to serenely acquire the location of their dreams.
